UK Official Music Update : Week of 22 September 2023 - 28 September 2023
Doja Cat leads the pack for a third week in a row with "Paint the Town Red", the rapper's highest ranking single in the United Kingdom. Tailing in the runner-up spot again, is Olivia Rodgrigo's former UK number-one "vampire".
South African-born and British raised musical artist Kenya Grace collects her first ever UK top-ten entry with "Strangers" which propels from No.12 to No.3 this week with only three weeks on the run. The track released September 1, 2023, via Major Recordings, owned by Warner Records, as the singer's major-label debut single. To date, it has peaked at No.6 in Australia, topped the ARIA Dance Chart, No.8 in Finland, No.5 in Germany, No.5 in Ireland, No.2 in Latvia, No.1 in Lithuania, No.6 in Luxembourg, #3 in the Netherlands, #2 in New Zealand, #6 in Norway, #4 in Slovakia, and #2 in Switzerland, while reaching No.2 on the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (Billboard).
Casso, RAYE and D-Block Europe march up to No.4 for a new high with their collab "Prada" which counts six weeks in. Tate McRae scores the week's highest entry at No.8 with "greedy", marking the singer's third top entry in the UK, following "you broke me first" (#3), and her feature on Tiesto's "10:45" (#8). greedy marks McRae's tenth overall charting entry on the chart. Drake & SZA set in at No.10 with their new collab "Slime You Out", marking SZA's fourth top-ten entry therein and the 41st for the Canadian rapper in the territory.
Zara Larsson & David Guetta turn up with "Oh My Love" at #38.
On the Albums front, English pop-punk band, Busted, achieve their first ever number-one entry on the Official Albums list with their Greatest Hits 2.o, a compilation album consisting of re-recordings of tracks from their first two albums and a new song "Good One". Both albums, Busted and Presents for Everyone previously peaked at No.2 in the UK as did the 2019 album Half Way There. Mitski comes in at #4 with The Land is Inhospitable And So Are We. marking the artist's second top-ten entry and highest thus far following 2022's Larel Hell (No.6).
