PnB Rock: The Legend that was in the Making
It is always a sad moment when a promising artist's career is cut shot with such heavy prospects. PnB Rock (born Rakim Hasheem Allen on December 9, 1991) was such an incredible artist whose life was taken on Sept. 12, 2022 at the age of 30, following a Los Angeles waffle house robbery where he was shot and killed. The rapper and singer had so far released two studio albums and had gained fame following the making of his 2016 single "Selfish" (peaking at #51 on the US Hot 100).
Rock had released 6 mixtapes in his lifetime: Real N*gga Bangaz (2014), RnB 2 (2015), RnB 3 (2015), Money, Hoes & Flows (with Fetty Wap) (2016), GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions (2017, peaking at #28 on the US Billboard 200, #7 on the US Hip Hop Albums list, while being certified Gold), and SoundCloud Daze (2022). In 2021, his only EP was released titled 2 Get You Thru the Rain, via Atlantic Records.
The rapper's debut album, Catch These Vibes, was released Nov. 17, 2017, via Atlantic and went on to peak at #17 on the Billboard 200 chart, No.7 on the Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums chart, and No.6 on the US Rap Albums chart, while going to #66 in Canada. The follow up, his second and thus final record, TrapStar Turnt PopStar (out on May 3, 2019 via Atlantic Records), peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart, while topping the US Rap Albums chart.
In 2019, he was features on Ed Sheeran's "Cross Me" , along with Chance the Rapper, peaking at No.4 in the UK, No.10 in Ireland, No.5 in Australia, and No.25 in the US.
