   The American actress, author and singer (Hilary Erhard Duff) was born September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas. In 2001, she starred as the titular character of the series Lizzie McGuire, from which she gained popularity. Her first movie role came when she appeared in Casper Meets Wendy (1998), and later she'd appear in Cadet Kelly (2002) as her second role. She has since appeared in films as: Agent Cody Banks, Cheaper by the Dozen, A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, In Search of Santa, The Perfect Man, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, Material Girls, War, Inc., Foodfight!, and many more. 

   Her debut album which was an Xmas album as well, Santa Claus Lane, was released October 15, 2002, via Buena Vista Records. It was majorly a holiday album reaching number-one on the US Top Catalog Albums (Billboard), however hitting #154 on the Billboard 200. Her second album, Metamorphosis, a rock/pop album, was released August 26, 2003, via Hollywood Records and managed to debut at No.2 on the Billboard 200,  (behind Mary J. Blige's Love & Life), while reaching the top spot in Canada in its first week of release. In its second week, the album rose to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, even with a decrease in sales. It featured the singles "So Yesterday", "Come Clean" (No.35 on the Hot 100, No.7 in Canada) and "Little Voice". 

   Hilary Duff (2004), was her third album, which also debuted at number two in the US , while also debuting atop the Canadian Albums Chart. It peaked at No.6 on the ARIA Albums chart. It featured the singles "Fly" and "Someone's Watching Over Me". In 2007, Dignify, was released, a dance-pop influenced record, debuting at number-three on the US Billboard 200, and later reached the runner-up position. In Canada it also debuted and peaked at No.3. It featured the singles "Play with Fire", "With Love" (No.24 in the US) and "Stranger". 

    Her next album, Breathe In. Breathe Out. was out June 12, 2015, via RCA Records. It debuted at number five in the US, marking her fifth top-five album therein. It went to No.4 in Australia, and No.5 in Canada. It spawned the singles "Chasing the Sun", "All About You" and "Sparks".
