Olivia Rodrigo scores yet another chart success with her sophomore album GUTS

Olivia Rodrigo's September-8 released second studio album, GUTS, opens atop the UK Official Albums Chart, marking the American singer's second number-one album on the run, following her debut SOUR set which returns to the top-ten of the UK chart (week of 15 September 2023 - 21 September 2023). Released via Geffen Records, the album has already spawned the singer's third number one on the UK Official Singles Chart with "vampire" (2023) following “drivers license” and “good 4 u,” which both summited in 2021. The album was produced by Dan Nigro and has thus opened atop the album charts in  Australia, Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland and Sweden turning it into a commercial success.

On the UK Singles front, Olivia adds another top-ten entry with "get him back" (No.7 debut) scoring her 7th UK top-ten on the list following "bad idea right".  On the ARIA Singles Chart for the week of 18 September 2023, Rodrigo's "vampire" is just behind Doja Cat's "Paint the Town Red", in the runner up spot, while debuting two new entries therein with "get him back" at #6 and "all american bitch" at #10, also considering "bad idea right" sitting at its No.3 peak. As noted earlier, the album opened atop the ARIA Albums Chart marking the singer's second number-one album entry in the land Down Under.

The album debuted at No.1 on the US Billboard 200 list (dated Sept. 23), with 302,000 equivalent album units, marking Rodrigo's second number-one entry on the record chart, following 2021's SOUR (her debut set, having entered at #1 with 295,000 ablum-equivalent units). The album's lead single "vampire" opened atop the equivalent Billboard Hot 100 list (dated July 15), earning the singer her third #1 entry therein (following "driver's license" and "good 4 u" in 2021). The next single "bad idea right?" proved to be another top-ten success on the chart. SOUR was released May 21, 2021, one of the best-selling albums of that year, opening atop major charts around the globe including the US and the UK, while spawning four US Hot 100 top-ten singles while earning the singer three Grammy wins for Best Pop Vocal AlbumPop Solo Performance (for driver's license) and Best New Artist at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards (2022). Billboard ranked it the second best album of the year 2021 just below Morgan Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album, while it ranked the biggest seller of the same year in Australia.

"vampire" returned to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 (dated Sept. 9), following a nine week stay below the top spot, the same week her sophomore record set in atop the Billboard 200 chart. Also, "bad idea right?" rose to a new No.7 high, and all the 12 tracks from the album appear on the Hot 100 as follows: "get him back" (11), "All-American Bitch" (13), "Lacy" (23), "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" (24), "Making the Bed" (19), "Logical" (20), "Love Is Embarrassing" (25), "The Grudge" (16), "Pretty Isn't Pretty" (30), and "Teenage Dream" (39).
