ARIA Chart Update: Week of Nov. 02, 2020
This week sees American pop singer, Ariana Grande, debut at No.1 with her latest release, "positions" as it ends 24kGold's reign on the Australian chart's summit. positions is the titular track from Grande's sixth studio album, Positions, released on Friday 30th October, 2020. The single marks Grande's fourth number-one single in Australia following "7 Rings", "Thank U, Next", and "No Tears Left to Cry".
"Mood" - 24kGoldn and iann dior's global smash recedes to second place after a few good weeks at No.1 on the chart. Joel Corry's "Head & Heart" (with MNEK) dips to No.3 after having peaked at #2 last week. Justin Bieber's "Holy" (with Chance the Rapper) holds at its No.4 peak as it racks 6 weeks on the chart. Cardi B's "Wap" (with Megan Thee Stallion) a former leader on the chart moves down to No.5.
Internet Money's rap collab "Lemonade" also holds at its No.6 best peak as it collects its 8th week on the chart. The single which recently hit the number-one spot in the UK features rappers Don Toliver, Gunna and Nav. More so, 'Lemonade' is the Officio 100 number-one for the week ending Nov.1, 2020 (this week basically). Fletwood Mac's 'Dreams' dips to #7 on the run as Pop Smoke's 'What You Know About Love' retreats to #8.
Tate McRae's 'you broke me first' holds at No.9 with 12 weeks in chart now. Jawsh 865 & Jason Derulo's former chart leader 'Savage Love' moves down to #10 with 20 weeks in chart.
Dua Lipa's 'Levitating' earns a new peak as it rises to No.13 with three weeks on chart. Luke Comb's "Forever After All" debuts at No.14 this week. The Kid Laroi's 'SO DONE' comes in at No.20. James Arthur's 'Train Wreck' debuts at #45.
On the Albums Chart,American legendary rock icon, Bruce Springsteen collects his fifth number-one album on the Australian Albums chart as his twentieth studio album, Letter to You, debuts at the chart's summit. It becomes the American rock icon’s second chart-topper in as many years after hitting #1 in 2019 with Western Stars (#1 Jun. ’19). Letter To You is the first new Springsteen studio album with his regular backing group the E Street Band since High Hopes (#1 Jan. ’14). Bruce Springsteen has also topped the ARIA Albums Chart with Born In The U.S.A. (#1 Oct. ’84) and Greatest Hits (#1 Mar. ’95).
