   Grande's 7th studio album which follows 2020's Positions (UK #1, US #1, IRE #1, CAN #1, AUS #2), contains house influences for a pop & RnB record. The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 - with 227,000 units marking her 6th number one score on the tally, after the aforementioned Positions, Thank U, Next (2019), Sweetener (2018), My Everything (2014), and Yours Truly (2013). Dangerous Woman (2016) managed to debut and peak at No.2 kept off the helm by Drake's Views. In its second week, the album stayed atop the tally as well as in the UK. 

   The singles "Yes and?" and "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" both debuted at number one on separate runs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, subsequently earning Grande her eighth and ninth chart-topper, while the most debuts for any female act (with 7 overall). 

 In other territories, eternal sunshine debuted at No.1 in the UK - marking her fifth consecutive #1 score there; it also marked her 5th number-one in Canada where it opened atop the tally; debuting at No.1 on the ARIA chart, it marked her fifth number-one score in Australia. Notably the album peaked at number-one in Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, while starting at No.2 in Austria, France, Lithuania, Scotland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. 

   The album was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 67th Grammy Awards eventually losing to Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet. "The Boy Is Mine" (remix) and "Yes, And?" scored one nod each, for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Dance Pop Recording.

   On March 28, 2025, a deluxe edition (reissue) titled eternal sunshine deluxe: brighter days ahead was released alongside a short film Brighter Days Ahead.
