Produced by himself along with Buddy Cannon, Born is the American country singer's 20th studio album, following the 2020 release Here and Now (which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning the star his 16th top-ten score and 8th US number-one album on the tally while also topping the US Top Country Albums). Born entered the US Top Country Albums (Billboard) at No.5 and at No.20 on the Billboard 200 list.
Chesney's debut album - In My Wildest Dreams was released April 19, 1994 through Capricorn Records. The 10-track set only managed to peak at #37 on the U.S. Billboard Top Heatseekers. His second album, All I Need to Know, released June 13, 1995, managed to crack the US Top Country Albums peaking at No.39 - while spawning three singles, two of which peaked within the top-10 of the US Hot Country Songs chart.
Me and You, his third album, was released June 4, 1996 via BNA Records, features tracks entirely written for him by other contributors. The set peaked at No.9 on the US Top Country Albums while reaching No.78 on the Billboard 200. I Will Stand was released July 15, 1997 (through BNA) reaching No.10 on the US Top Country Albums and No.95 on the US Billboard 200. The first single from the album "She's Got It All" became his first to top the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. The third single "That's Why I'm Here" peaked at No.2 US Hot Country Songs and at No.79 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Everywhere We Go (BNA Records) was released March 2, 1999 hitting No.5 on the US Top Country Albums and the Canadian Country Albums (RPM) list, while peaking at #51 on the Billboard 200. It featured the US Country number-ones "How Forever Feels" and "You Had Me from Hello" as well as the No.8 peaking "What I Need to Do". All four singles including "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" (Country #11) charted on the Hot 100 chart.
His first compilation album, Greatest Hits, was released September 26, 2000 via BNA. The set peaked atop the US Top Country Albums chart , No.13 on the US Billboard 200 and No.15 on the Canadian Country Albums. Three singles released off the set included the Country No.1 "Don't Happen Twice" and the No.3 "I Lost It", while "The Tin Man" reached No.19.
His sixth album, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems, was out April 23, 2002 via BNA. It became Chesney's first album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart, while also topping the US Top Country Albums. It spawned the US Country #1 single "The Good Stuff" (US #22) as well as the Country #2 singles - "Young", "Big Star" (US #28), and "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems" (US #28), plus the #6 "A Lot of Things Different", all of which entered the Hot 100 list. His seventh album, a holiday set titled All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan, was released October 7, 2003. The album hit No.3 on the US Top Holiday Albums, No.4 on the US Top Country Albums and No.42 on the Billboard 200.
When the Sun Goes Down, his 8th, released February 3, 2004 debuted atop the Billboard 200, marking the country star's 2nd topper thereon. It also topped the US Top Country Albums while producing three country number-ones: "There Goes My Life", "When the Sun Goes Down" (featuring Uncle Kracker) and "Anything but Mine"; the country #2s : "I Go Back" and "The Woman with You" as well as the #6 ranking "Keg in the Closet". Billboard ranked the album at No.10 at the year-end list of 2004. It was the second best country album of the year 2004.
Be as You Are (Songs from an Old Blue Chair) released January 25, 2005 via BNA also debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 as well as the US Top Country Albums (Billboard) album. The Road and the Radio also debuted atop US Top Country Albums and US Billboard 200 charts. It featured the country #1s "Living in Fast Forward", "Summertime" and "Beer in Mexico", the No.2 "Who You'd Be Today", and the #3 "You Save Me". His first live album, Live: Live Those Songs Again was released September 19, 2006 peaking at #4 on the Billboard 200 and No.1 on the Top Country Albums.
Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates (released September 11, 2007) peaked atop the US Top Country Albums and reached No.3 on the Billboard 200 list, and No.7 in Canada. The singles - "Never Wanted Nothing More", "Don't Blink" and "Better as a Memory" were all country number-ones while "Shiftwork" (featuring George Strait) peaked at #2 on the Country Songs chart. In 2007, another compilation, Super Hits, was released via Sony BMG Special Markets, reaching No.52 on the US Top Country Albums .
His 12th album, Lucky Old Sun, released October 14, 2008, entered the Billboard 200 at number one, while marking his fifth chart-top consecutive debut on the US Top Country Albums. Both singles from the album were No.1 scores on the country chart list. The album peaked at #10 in Canada. Another compilation album, Greatest Hits II, was out May 19, 2009 - debuting at #3 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the US Top Country Albums. It featured the country chart #1 "Out Last Night".
Hemingway's Whiskey (out September 28, 2010) also debuted atop the Billboard 200 and the US Top Country Albums, marking his 6th number-one on the former. It contained the country #1s "The Boys of Fall", "Somewhere with You", "Live a Little" and "Reality". 2012's Welcome to the Fishbowl debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200 (blocked by Justin Bieber's Believe). The set topped the US Top Country Albums and peaked at #5 in Canada, also featuring the US Country #1 song "Come Over". His follow-up Life on a Rock (2013) started atop the Billboard 200 and the US Billboard Top Country Albums, while reaching #4 in Canada.
The Big Revival (2014) featured four singles which all went to No.1 on the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart. Topping the country album chart, it marked the singer's 13th to do so, while debuting at No.2 on the Billboard 200. All four singles from the set peaked atop the US Country Airplay. Cosmic Hallelujah was released October 28, 2016 via Blue Chair & Columbia Nashville. It debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200 chart and No.1 on the Top Country Albums chart. It featured the US Country #1 "Setting the World on Fire" a duet with Pink.
Songs for the Saints (released July 27, 2018) also debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200, his 15th consecutive top-10 therein; it also topped the US Top Country Albums. Here and Now (May 1, 2020) debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart, marking the singer's 16th top-10 on the list. In Canada, it peaked at No.2. while topping the US Top Country Albums (Billboard) chart.
