Officio Birthday Star: Sean Kingston
Kisean Paul Anderson (born February 3, 1990), better known by his stage name Sean Kingston, is a Jamaican-American singer, rapper and songwriter. He is known for his hit songs "Beautiful Girls", "Fire Burning", and "Eenie Meenie".
Kingston was discovered on Myspace by Matt Tobin at Beluga Heights, and signed to the label in a partnership deal with Sony. In a venture between Epic Records and Koch Records, Kingston recorded and released the single "Beautiful Girls" in May 2007. The song peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. "Beautiful Girls" was a success internationally, topping the charts in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom. In the latter country, the song spent four weeks at the summit of the UK Singles Chart. Since Sean was a Jamaican singer, he got his stage name from the capital of Jamaica called Kingston.
His self titled debut album was released in 2007 and entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at #6 and fell to #13 the following week. It also spawned the single "Me Love" which reached No.11 on the ARIA charts, No.14 in the US and No.7 in Ireland. "Take You There" reached No.7 on the Hot 100.
Tomorrow his second studio album was released on September 7, 2009 and only peaked at #37 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart with only 13,000 copies sold in the first week of release. It featured the most successful single therein "Fire Burning" which peaked at No.5 on
the Billboard Hot 100. "Face Drop", the second single charted fairly in the US reaching a peak of #67 while peaking at No.1 on the South African Singles Chart.
The singer's third album, Back 2 Life, was released in September 2013, and was supported by the single "Beat It" which peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album features guest appearances from T.I., Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Yo Gotti, Busta Rhymes and 2 Chainz. The album however did not chart on the Billboard 200 list, although it peaked at #33 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard).
In 2007, Kingston was featured on Natasha Beddingfield's single "Love Like This" which peaked at No.11 on the US Hot 100.
