Best Albums of April 2020
The fourth month of 2020 gave us some dope records that kept us going through the gloomy days that ensued, as we held on rather tight, vibing to the coolest with the best of hope.
1. Blame It On Baby : DaBaby got us vibing to his third studio album, released on April 17, via Interscope Records. Debuting at No.1 on the US Billboard 200 charts, it marked the rapper's second album to top the chart after Kirk (2019), and his third top-ten effort overall on the list. It also spawned the internationally acclaimed single "Rockstar" (feat. Roddy Ricch), topping charts in the US, Australia, Denmark, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Portugal, the UK and the Rolling Stone Top 100, while peaking at No.2 on our Officio 100 list and No.4 in Scotland. The track "Drop" (with A Boogie Wit da Hoodie & London on da Track) reached the No.1 spot on our list, while "Find My Way" peaked at No.4, "Practice" at No.2, "Peep Hole" at No4 and "Pick Up" (with Quavo) reached No.5. Internationally, the album reached No.1 in Canada, No.7 in Australia, No.8 in the UK and No.5 in Ireland.
2. Neon Future IV : American DJ and producer, Steve Aoki, delivered his sixth studio effort on April 3, with collaborations that involve such marvelous dance/electronic artists as well as vocalists. It peaked at No.11 on the US Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The track "Inside Out" (with Felix Jaehn and Jamie Scott) reached a No.6 high on the Officio 100 while the Tory Lanez collab, "Daylight" was another top-ten on the list.
3. The New Toronto 3 : Tory Lanez's mixtape was out April 10 via Mad Love and Interscope Records. The set debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 charts, marking his fifth top-5 album in the US. In his home country, Canada, the album went in at No.1 earning the rapper a second topper therein. It peaked aat No.4 in the UK and No.10 in Australia.
4. Southside : Country singer, Sam Hunt, saw the release of his sophomore album on April 3 via MCA Nashville. The album hit No.1 on the US Top Country Albums list, and No.5 on the Billboard 200 charts while peaking at No.4 in Canada and No.3 on the Australian Country Albums.
5. 38 Baby 2 : The 16th mixtape from rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again was released on April 24 via Atlantic Records, and it debuted atop the US Billboard 200 charts marking his second number-one effort on the list. It reached No.24 in Canada. The track "I-10 Baby" managed to reach a No.4 rank on our Officio 100 list just as most of the tracks on the set appeared on the list.
6. Hood Baby 2 : Lil Gotit's third studio album was released on April 24 via Alamo Records. It peaked at No.2 on the US Heatseekers Albums chart while reaching the 200 mark on the Billboard 200 charts. It also features the Officio 100 top-ten track "Drip Day n Night" (feat. Gunna & Lil Keed).
7. Pray 4 Love : The sophomore album by American rapper, Rod Wave, this was released April 3 via Alamo Records, debuting at No.2 on the US Billboard 200 list, becoming his highest charting record therein and his second top-ten effort.
8. Pregame Rituals : Released April 9, this EP was released by the rapper 2KBaby via Masked Records. It featured the Officio 100 track " 20K".
9. The Saga of Wiz Khalifa : On April 20, Wiz Khalifa delivered this awesome record released via Taylor Gang Records. The track "High Today" (feat. Logic) peaked at No.10 on our Officio 100 list.
10. Three. Two. One. : Lennon Stella ended our wait with her debut studio effort, which dropped on April 24, via Columbia Records. Peaking at No.10 on the Canadian Albums Chart, her native place, the album features the Officio No.3 peaking track "Kissing Other People".
11. 12 AM in Atlanta 2 : 24hrs and DJ Drama collaborated on this awesome mixtape, which dropped on April 10.
Other Notable Releases :
- K.I.S.S. 5 ; K Camp's fourth studio album was released via Interscope Records and peaked at No.29 on the US Billboard 200 charts.
- Wake Up Sunshine : American rock band, All Time Low, released their eighth studio effort on April 3, and it topped the US Top Rock Albums , reached No.2 on the US Top Alternative Albums while reaching No.3 on the UK Albums Chart, No.2 in Scotland, #12 in Australia and peaking at No.31 in the US.
