The Officio Play ! Edition 40
ROSÉ & Bruno Mars debut atop the 40th Edition of the Play chart with "APT.", earning the S. Korean singer her highest entry, while Mars collects his second chart topper. Mars has previously charted a No.1 debut with the Lady Gaga assisted "Die with a Smile", which stands to rise to No.5, marking a 10th consecutive in the top ten tier and overall, its entire stay without ever popping out of the tier. Mars ultimately joins ranks with a few select acts that boast at least two number 1 entry (as Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone, Teddy Swims, The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, Future and Metro Boomin).
Morgan Wallen marks his highest debut start as a lead act with a No.2 roll in "Love Somebody", surpassing the No.3 reaching "Lies Lies Lies" and only bested by his feature on Post Malone's #1 "I Had Some Help". The country star adds a third top ten effort on the tally and the Top Country entry on the current edition.
Perrie's "You Go Your Way" recedes to No.3 after reaching the runner up spot on the previous edition, marking a third run on the tally. "Timeless" (The Weeknd & Playboi Carti), last edition's number one holder dips to 4th place after leading for two consecutive runs, marking only the second song to achieve the feat, after Teddy Swims' "Funeral" also had a double run on the tally. The Weeknd still boasts the two for two as "Dancing in the Flames" also recedes to No.9 with six runs on the tally.
Australian singer, Dean Lewis, scores his third top ten entry as "Cold" shivers into the list at No.6, he ranked at No.2 previously with "Memories" and has had a No.1 feature on Picture This' "Middle of Love".
Jeremih brings R&B into the Play's top ten, charting his first top ten therein with a No.7 entry, "Sick", a feature with fellow R&B singer 4Batz, who adds a second top ten overall after his own "Act II: Date @ 8" remix with Drake entered the tally previously at No.8.
Kygo & Imagine Dragons' "Stars Will Align" descends to No.8, having led the 37th Edition, adds a total fourth run in the tally.
At No.10, David Guetta matches his 6th top ten effort with an 80's reminiscent song "Forever Young", bringing along singer Ava Max (for her first top 10 therein) and the original act, Alphaville, who appear on the Play list for the first time.
Beyond the top tier, Shaboozey's #1 "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" repeats at No.11 (following its unmatched run within the top 10). Brett Young's "Say Less" also repeats at its No.12, the singer's best entry yet.
Rapper Yeat debuts 12 new entries simultaneously on the edition, the most for any act, with the highest being "NEW HIGH" (with Don Toliver) at No.15. Bishop Briggs debuts three songs, all for the first time, with the highest entry as "Isolated Love" (feat. Travis Barker) at No.36. Dean Lewis debuts a total four new songs on the chart, including the aforementioned No.6 "Cold".
Kylie Minogue adds 6 new songs on the tally, with "Shoulda Left Ya" flying in the highest at No.14. Kylie's "Lights Camera Action" lifts to a new No.19 on the tally. Australian pop icon, Guy Sebastian marks his first top 20 entry sailing in at afresh No.16 with "No Reason to Stay".
Other major chart gainers include: Jelly Roll's "When the Drugs Don't Work" at No.21, Allan Walker & Flo Rida's "When I Grow Up" at No.23, Olly Alexander's "Cupid's Bow" at 24.
