It is the third studio album for the English-Albanian singer, as a follow up to 2020's Future Nostalgia. The album debuted atop the UK Albums Chart, earning Lipa her first No.1 debut on the chart, while her second overall number one following Future Nostalgia which eventually climbed to the top spot, also winning the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2021 and the British Album of the Year at the Brits Awards in 2021 - the album also reached the top slots in Ireland and Scotland as well Australia, while peaking at No.2 in Canada and No.3 in the US. Radical Optimism marked Lipa's highest chart feature on the Billboard 200 list where it opened at #2, while hitting No.2 in Australia, No.1 in Scotland, Hungary, Croatia, France, Austria, Spain, Poland and Portugal, No.2 in Ireland.  The Europop set sees production from Danny L HarleIan, Ian  Kirkpatrick Kevin Parker and Andrew Wyatt. 

The album comprises of the singles: "Houdini" released 9 November 2023 - reached No.2 in the UK and No.11 on the Hot 100 chart while peaking at #7 in Australia, #5 in Canada, #9 in Germany, #3 on the Global 200, #6 in Ireland, No.1 in Poland and Slovakia, No.3 in Switzerland, while topping the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (Billboard). The second single "Training Season" was released 15 February 2024, another success for the singer, reaching No.4 in the UK. It also reached No.12 in Australia, #11 in Canada, No.6 on the Global 200, No. 6 in Ireland, and No.27 on the US Hot 100. "Illusion", the third single was out 11 April 2024, debuting at No.9 in the UK, while reaching No. 43 on the Hot 100, also topping the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (Billboard).
