Officio Birthday Star : Offset

 


    American rapper, Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus - on Dec. 14, 1991, is an American rapper who became popular for his contribution to the rap trio Migos (together with Quavo and the late Takeoff). 

   In 2017, he collaborated with producer Metro Boomin along with 21 Savage for the studio album Without Warning, released via Slaughter Gang, Epic Records, Capitol Records, Motown, Quality Control Music, Boominati Worldwide, and Republic Records. The album peaked at number 4 on the US Billboard 200 chart while topping the US Top Rap Albums and No.2 0n the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The set managed to peak at #5 in Canada. It spawned the single "Ric Flair Drip" eventually peaking at No.13 on the Hot 100 list. Billboard ranked the song at #38 at the 2018 year-end list. 

   His solo debut album, Father of 4, was released February 22, 2019 via  Motown and Quality Control Music. It debuted and peaked at No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking his second solo top-10 therein. It featured the singles "Red Room" (US #49) and "Clout" (feat. Cardi B) (US #39), the latter would later be nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap Performance in 2020, however lost to Nipsey Hussle's "Racks in the Middle". 

   His second studio album, Set It Off, came out October 13, 2023 via Motown Records, following his fallout with Quality Control Music. The set peaked at No.5 on the US Billboard 200 chart. It contains the singles "Jealousy" (with Cardi B) (US #55), "Fan", "Worth It" (with Don Toliver) (US #92), and "Say My Grace" (US #48). 

   Before the Migos' group disbandment, they released four major studio albums : Yung Rich Nation (2015, peaking at #17 in the US), Culture (2017, marking their first US #1 album), Culture II 2018, the trio's second US chart-topper), and Culture III (2021, peaking at #2 in the US). Culture contained the US Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Bad and Boujee" (feat. Lil Uzi Vert) (the first for all the rappers involved), along with other singles "T-Shirt" (US #19), and "Slippery" (US #29). Culture II contained the singles "MotorSport" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B) (US #6), "Stir Fry" (US #8), "Walk It Talk It" (feat. Drake) (US #10) and "Narcos" (US #36). Culture III featured the singles "Need It" (featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again) (US #62), and "Straightenin" (US #23). 

   Offset was also part of the compilation albums, Quality Control: Control the Streets, Volume 1 (2017) and Quality Control: Control the Streets, Volume 2 (2019), peaking at No.5 and No.3, respectively, on the US Billboard 200 chart.
