Blood in My Eye : Ja Rule (2003)

Rapper Ja Rule's 5th studio record, Blood in My Eye was released November 4, 2003, via Murder Inc. Records, and Island Def Jam Music Group. The album was majorly made up of diss tracks following a feud between some Shady/Aftermath artists and other rappers. The album debuted at its peak position (#6) on the Billboard 200, marking his fifth top-ten album in the US, also marking his first set to miss the top-five tier.  Prior to that, Rule had scored the entries: Venni Vetti Vecci (#3 US, released 1999), Rule 3:36 (#1 US, released 2000), Pain Is Love (#1 US, released 2001), and The Last Temptation (#4 US, released 2002).

Blood in My Eye went to number-one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart while reaching #32 in Canada, and #51 in the UK. In the US, the album sold 140,000 copies first week, performing lower than its 2002 predecessor. In its second week on the chart, the album dropped to No.19, in the third week it further dropped to No.46, then #61 in its fourth, to #98 in its fifth, eventually leaving the top 100 the week after at #145.
