The Officio 100 - No.2's
JayBeats Officio ranks the coolest tracks through analysis, plays and interests and we take a closer look into those rockin' tracks that have peaked as high as No.2, debuts alike. Second place is as good as first place or any other rank on the run. These songs are listed in their order of chart appearance.
1. Carry On (feat. Rita Ora) - Norwegian producer, Kygo, holds the foremost No.2 track to feature on the chart, the first EDM debut, only blocked from the top-spot by Talylor Swift's 'You Need To Calm Down' . The entry became Ora's first and best as a feature artist. It ran for 7 weeks.
2. Higher Love (feat. Whitney Houston) - Kygo for a second time debuted at No.2 in a consecutive run, replacing himself thereby earning the rare feat. The song marked his second top-five and top-ten therein and the best mark for the late talented singer, Houston. This time, Kygo was kept from No.1 by Post Malone & Young Thug's 'Goodbye' . On the 7th issue, however, the track rebounded to No.2 again with only six weeks on the chart, marking the first time any song did. This time round, it was only kept off the number-one peak by NF's 'Time'. It eventually spent 28 weeks on the run, the best for any EDM track.
3. Senorita (feat. Camila Cabello) - Shawn Mendes scored his best rank on the run (even to date) when the collab rose to No.2 on the 4th issue, also marking the best peak for Cabello at the time. It marked the first track to hit the #2 spot without debuting there. The song was kept off the top-spot by Sam Smith's 'How Do You Sleep?. Senorita ran for 19 weeks on the run.
4. New Look - Rita Ora scored her best rank as the lead act when the track rose from No.4 to No.2 in its second week on the run. That marked the first a female act held the No.2 spot all by herself, considering she was the first to appear on the spot on the first issue, however as a featured act. If it wasn't for Alan Walker's 'Unity', Ora would've had her way to No.1. It ran for 6 weeks before leaving the run.
5. All This Love (feat. Harloe) - This is still Robin Schulz's best chart peak, following its rise to No.2, marking the third EDM track to reach the spot. It was bested by English boy-band, Rak-su, who debuted at No.1 on the 8th issue. It ran for 8 weeks.
6. Solo Quiero (Somebody To Love) - Leona Lewis, Cali Y El Dandee and Juan Magán had a No.2 debut on the 10th Issue of the Officio 100, which is to-date the only entry for all the collaborators. The track becmae the best Latin-vibe song to get that high. It marked the third No.2 debut on the chart and kept off the top by The Chainsmokers' 'Takeaway' (feat. Illenium & Lennon Stella).Solo Quierro ran for 4 weeks.
7. Panini - Lil Nas X scored his second-best rank when 'Panini' made its way to high No.2 after 8 weeks on chart, however billed as a solo version. That made him the first act to have a No.2 peak after having had a No.1 peak previously. The song stayed around the chart for 30 weeks, one of the longest. It was kept off the top-spot by 'Someone You Loved' by Lewis Capaldi.
8. Cheating On You - Charlie Puth's best entry as a lead act had debuted at No.3 the week earlier, however, it rose to No.2 the following week, just behind Travis Scott's 'Highest in the Room' No.1 debut. It eventually ran for 9 weeks.
9. Easy - Camila Cabello had already reached the top-spot with 'Liar' before it was easy, however 'Easy' debuted at No.2, marking her second-best rank at the point, and kept off the number-one spot by fellow female act, Halsey, with 'Graveyard'. The following week, the track held on to the #2 spot, marking the first time a song holds at No.2 consecutively and the second for any track to have a second week at No.2, all the while held off the top by Katy Perry's 'Harleys in Hawaii' Easy ran for 14 weeks before leaving the run.
10. Ride It - After 6 weeks on the run, DJ Regard's version of 'Ride It' reached its best peak on the 19th issue, only held off the top by Selena Gomez's No.1 debuting 'Lose You To Love Me'. It marked the fourth EDM track to peak to #2 and then ran for 21 weeks before exiting the run. Ride It's No.2 hold marked the first time a male act was kept off the top-spot by a female act.
11. Dream of You - On the 26th issue, Camila Cabello return to No.2 with a debut still, making it her second as a lead act and third overall. Similarly, she had just hit No.1 earlier on with 'Living Proof'. The track was kept off the summit by The Chainsmokers' 'Family' with Kygo. Dream ran for 10 weeks till it exited.
12. Chills - A few weeks into 2020, the pop boy-group, Why Don't We scored the No.2 position with their highest debut 'Chills'. This marked the first time any group, dup or band hit the spot. Chills was kept from number-one by the remix version of Travis Scott's 'Highest in the Room' which featured Lil Baby and Rosalia. Chills had a 9-week run before falling out. It was also the 6th song to debut at No.2.
13. Vulnerable - Selena Gomez marked her second best position when 'Vulnerable' started at No.2 on the 30th issue, making it the 7th song to start at the position. Only kept off the top-spot by Alicia Key's 'Underdog', it marked the second time a female act was held off by another. Vulnerable ran for 10 weeks before its exit.
14. Anyone - Demi Lovato scored her best rank to-date when she debuted 'Anyone' at No.2, just behind Jonas Brothers' 'What a Man Gotta Do' - marking the second time a group/band kept another act from the top. Anyone ran for a short 4 weeks before its exit while it marked the 8th No.2 debut.
15. I Do It (feat. Big Sean & Lil Baby) - It had been a long while before a collaborative effort came in at No.2. This Lil Wayne best effort on the chart, marked the 9th No.2 debut at the time and first for a hip-hop song, while second overall to reach No.2 after 'Panini'. Wayne was kept off the top thanks to Dua Lipa's second No.1 debut 'Physical'. I Do It ran for 4 weeks before exiting the chart.
16. Believe (feat. Justin Timberlake)- Meek Mill followed Wayne as the track marked the 10th No.2 debut on the run, also marking the best peak for both acts. While it ran for a short 3 weeks on the run, it was kept off No.1 by Justin Bieber & Quavo's 'Intentions' which had debuted there.
17. Numbers (feat. Roddy Ricch, Gunna, London On Da Track) - Hip Hop was having a streak at No.2 when A Boggie Wit Da Hoodie came in at No.2 along with all the collaborators. This is to-date his best rank as a lead act and second best overall. Ironically, Numbers was held off the top by Roddy Ricch's 'The Box'. Numbers ran for 6 weeks on the run.
18. Life is Good (Remix) (with DaBaby & Lil Baby) - Marking the highest debut for a remixed version, Future & Drake's single did better than its original when it debuted at No.2, hip hop scored a fourth round in a row with No.2 leads and debuts for that matter. The remix is still the duo's best-ranking position so far. For a third time, a group/band kept a track from the top-spot, this time being 5 Second of Summer's 'Old Me'. The remix ran for 9 weeks before leaving the chart.
19. Heatin Up (feat. Gunna) - For a fifth record time in a row, hip hop still held the #2 position, another debut, this time from Lil Baby taking a lead after a feature at the spot. At the point, Gunna earned his second No.2 peak in a consecutive run. They were however kept off the No.1 mark by Lady Gaga's 'Stupid Love', and ran for only 4 weeks before exiting the chart. Again a female act, kept not just one but two male acts from the top. The week after, Heatin Up held on to the No.2 peak making it the second track to do so after a debut and third overall to score a second week at No.2. It was again blocked by a female act, this time by Mabel's 'Boyfriend'.
20. Heartbreak Weather - Niall Horan had already made it to the top-spot weeks ago, when he scored this No.2 debut, which was kept off the number-one mark by OneRepublic's 'Didn't I'. It marked the fourth time a band/group held the top-spot from some other act.
21. I Love You's - Hailee Steinfeld came in with her best shot - a No.2 debut on the 41st issue, bringing the girl pop effect back at #2. The single was held off by fellow pop female act, Dua Lipa's 'Cool' which was her third No.1 debut. It also marked the 15th debut at the #2 spot. It has so far run for 7 weeks.
22. Be a Light (feat. Keith Urban, Chris Tomlin, Hillary Scott & Reba McEntire) - Thomas Rhett scored the best-ranking country track on the run at the moment when 'Be a Light' rose to second place just behind Gunna's 'Skybox'. It ran for 5 weeks before exiting.
23. Rockstar (feat. Roddy Ricch) - DaBaby saw hip-hop return to the No.2 spot after a while. Rockstar was held off by a female pop act, as Kelly Clarkson's 'I Dare You' debuted at No.1. Rockstar has so far for 4 weeks as of the 47th issue. The track returned to the run after an entire month of the chart's hiatus.
24. Freedom (feat. Zak Abel) - After 43 weeks, Kygo made a return to the No.2 spot with yet another debut as 'Freedom' took the spot marking his third No.2 effort and debut overall, the most for a male act and fifth for an EDM track. It was held off the top by DaBaby's 'Drop' (feat. A Boogie wit da Hoodie & London on da Track). Freedom has so far run for 4 weeks.
25. Say So (Remix) (feat. Nicki Minaj) - The 46th issue saw a female collaboration debut at No.2 for the first time as Doja Cat earned her best peak just as Minaj added another top-10 and still her best-ranking feature. This marked the second time a remix version of a particular song debuted at the #2 position. It was kept off the summit by marshmello & Halsey's 'Be Kind'.
26. Stuck With U (feat. Justin Bieber) - The 47th issue brought another collab debut at No.2, this time, Ariana Grande, with Bieber, only bested by Gabby Barret's 'I Hope' remix version with Charlie Puth.
27. Somebody - Dagny's debut entrance on the run found its way to the runner-up spot on the Officio 100, marking the seventh time a sole female act held the position. It was kept off the top by Kygo & OneRepublic's No.1 debut 'Lose Somebody'. Somebody ran for five weeks before the chart took a break.
28. Wunna - Rapper Gunna reached the number-one spot with "Skybox" previously, but he came close once more as a lead act again with 'Wunna', which also marked his third attempt at the number-two spot, but first as a sole act. Wunna was kept at bay by Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande's 'Rain on Me'. Wunna also made a return on the chart when the chart resumed for its 51st issue.
29. Free Woman - Fresh off her second number-one score, Lady Gaga came close to a third, as 'Free Woman' debuted at the No.2 spot, making it her third best track on the run, and the eighth solo female act to hold the spot and the 2oth track to debut at the spot. Gaga was kept from the number-one position by another female act, Tones and I with 'Ur So Fu**ng Cool'.
30. What's Love Got to Do With It - As the Officio 100 resumed its weekly run, EDM regular, Kygo, returned to the #2 spot with another remake, this time, Tina Turner's classic hit, 'What's Love Got to Do With It', marking his fourth No.2 peak and third No.2 debut, while the first for the legendary Turner. It also marked the 21st track to start at the runner-up position, while the 30th track to reach the #2 spot, while the 6th EDM track to hold the spot. With two number-ones on the run, Kygo boasts 12 overall top-ten entries, and was held off the No.1 peak by Maroon 5's "Nobody's Love".
31. Practice - DaBaby's "Practice" marked his third appearance at the runner-up spot on the 53rd run, all being debuts and the second in the lead role, right after the No.2 entry "Rockstar" (with Roddy Ricch). Practice was only held off the top by just another hip hop entry, Murda Beatz' "Doors Unlocked" (featuring Ty Dolla $ign & Polo G) which had just risen to claim the number-one spot. With 'Practice', DaBaby tied with Gunna, having the same number of No.2 hits.
32. Laugh Now Cry Later - Drake and Lil Durk kept the hip hop No.2 streak alive with this debut, the best for Lil Durk as it marked Drake's second feature in the position after appearing on "Life is Good" (Remix) with Future (with DaBaby & Lil Baby). The song was held off by Miley Cyrus' No.1 debut "Midnight Sky".
33. Dynamite - On the 55th run, South Korean globally acclaimed boy band, BTS, scored their highest entry on the Officio 100 list, with "Dynamite" coming in at No.2, just behind Clean Bandit & Mabel's "Tick Tock" (with 24kGoldn). This marked the second time a pop band/group debuted and peaked at the runner-up spot after Why Don't We did with 'Chills" at the year's start.
34. Downtown (2020) - It had been weeks since EDM had a run at the No.2 spot, up until the infectious tune from Allie X and Della Casa made the exception. It marked the 7th Dance/Electronic song to feature at the spot. It was kept off the top by Katy Perry's debut "Only Love".
35. Love Again - English trio New Hope Club made an awesome jump on the 57th run when "Love Again" rose from #14 to No.2, making it the third song by a pop band to peak at the spot, while it was held off a new EDM-pop entry, "Lasting Lover" from Sigala & James Arthur.
36. Ok Not to Be Ok - marshmello scored his second best entry with this Demi Lovato assisted track, when it opened at No.2 on the 58th run. Ironically, it was held off the top rule by another EDM favorite, marking the very first time. At number-one that week was David Guetta and Sia with "Let's Love". Ok marked the 8th time an electro song was in the
37. Born to the Night - Ava Max joined the popstar's list with No.2 entries when this lovely track debutes there on in support of the singer's album released at the time. It marked the 9th time a sole female act peaked at the runner-up spot on the chart with the last at that point having been Lady Gaga with "Free Woman". Born was held off by 24kGold's "Mood" (with iann dior) rising to the number-one position on the 59th issue.
38. Levitating (Remix) - Dua Lipa with already three No.1 debuts at this point, scored her first No.2 debut with this DaBaby collab, on the 61st run. The track DaBaby's fourth No.2 feature on the run. It was held off the #1 post by the pop band Why Don't We with "Fallin'". It would also be the thirs remixed version to hit No.2 on the chart.
39. Hate the Way - G-Eazy scored his best entry on the run along with blackbear when this hip-hop pop-infused track debuted at the No.2 spot, marking it the 11th rap-influenced track to feature at the runner-up position, while being held off by another hip-hop star-collab, Internet Money's "Lemonade" (with Gunna, Don Toliver, and Nav).
40. Inside Out - Zedd and Griff brought EDM back to the runner-up position with this No.2 entry marking the 9th time for any EDM song on the list, while th best entry for both acts. It was held off by Canadian singer Tate McRae's "you broke me first"while ranking the 40th #2 peaking song on the chart.
41. Home Sweet Home - Sam Feldt earned his first top-ten entry on the list with this beautiful collaboration with ALMA and Digital Farm Animals, the latter scoring their second top-ten effort. Home marked the 10th EDM track to take shelter in the runner-up spot, as it was held up by Saint JHN's "Sucks to Be You".
