Officio Album Check : DS4Ever (Gunna)
A follow-up to the Atlanta rapper's second album, Wunna, DS4Ever or Drip Season 4Ever marks Gunna's third studio set as a rapper. The album was released on January 7, 2022, by YSL Records and 300 Entertainment serving as the fourth and final installment of Gunna's Drip Season series, following Drip Season 3 released in 2018.
The album follows his collaboration on Young Stoner Life's second compilation album, Slime Language 2, released on April 16, 2021. The set debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. Prior to that, Gunna's sophomore album, Wunna, was released on May 22, 2020, and it earned the rapper his first number-one album following its debut on the US Billboard 200 chart.
DS4Ever debuted atop the US Billboard 200 scoring Gunna his second number-one album on the chart. The album's chart entry at #1 saw The Weeknd's record Dawn FM set in at No.2, while it was most predicted to debut at the top spot. The album became Gunna's fifth charting album on the aforementioned chart and fourth top-10 effort. DS4Ever replaced Encanto at the top position, although it managed to peak there in the weeks following.
While topping the Billboard 200, the album also topped the equivalent US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) and Top Rap Albums charts, while marking his third number one on both tallies. Away from the rapper's country, the album fared pretty well, peaking at No.4 on the UK Albums chart (his second top-10 after Wunna peaked at #5); No.4 in Norway; No.6 in Ireland (his first top-10 in the country); No.2 in Canada (his third top-10 and second best entry on that chart) and No.12 in Australia.
The album sees guest appearances from Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Drake, Kodak Black, Chlöe, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Nechie, Yung Bleu, Chris Brown, and Roddy Ricch.
The lead single "Too Easy" (feat. Future) was released on September 24, 2021 while a remix with rapper Roddy Ricch was released on December 3, 2021 - the song has thus far peaked at No.16 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The track "Pushing P" (with Future and Young Thug) has peaked at No.7 on the Hot 100 tally thereby the album's highest charting song while scoring Gunna his first top-10 entry as a lead artist and third overall following "Drip Too Hard" (a collaborative effort with Lil Baby) and "Lemonade" with Internet Money.
