Officio Birthday Star : Sean Paul

   Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, OD (born 9 January 1973) is a Jamaican dancehall recording artist and producer who is regarded as one of the genre's most prolific artists. 

   Paul's singles "Get Busy" and "Temperature" topped the charts in the United States and most of his albums have been nominated for the Grammy's Best Reggae Album, with Dutty Rock winning the award. Paul has also been featured in many other singles including chart-toppers "Baby Boy" by Beyoncé, "What About Us" by The Saturdays, "Rockabye" by Clean Bandit and "Cheap Thrills" by Sia

   Sean Paul Henriques was born in Kingston, Jamaica to parents Garth and Frances on 9 January 1973. His mother is a painter. 

His debut studio album, Stage One, was released 28 March 2000 via VP/Universal Records, reaching No.2 on the Top Reggae Albums (US) and No.98 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It featured the singles "Deport Them" and "Haffi Get De Gal Ha (Hot Gal Today)". 

 His sophomore album, Dutty Rock, released in 2002, was a No.1 success in Canada, while reaching No.2 in the UK and Ireland, No.9 in the US and No.10 in Germany. It spawned the popular singles "Gimme the Light" (US #7, UK #5), "Get Busy"(US #1; UK #4), "Like Glue" (UK #3) and "I'm Still in Love with You"(featuring Sasha) (UK #6, US #13),. His feature on Beyonce's "Baby Boy" reached No.1 on the Hot 100, spending a total 9 weeks at the spot. At the end of the year 2003, the album was ranked at a best #21 both in the UK and the US and No.13 on the Worldwide Albums (IFPI) chart. It has been certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA in the US, and 3x Platinum in the UK by the BPI. It also topped the US Reggae Albums (Billboard). 

His third album, Trinity, was released in 2005 and peaked at No.5 in the US while reaching No.4 in Canada. It produced the singles We Be Burnin'" , "Ever Blazin'" , and the US number-one single, "Temperature". It spawned the single "Give It Up to Me" (feat. Keyshia Cole) (US No.3 on the Hot 100). 

His fourth album, Imperial Blaze, was out in 2009 and was followed with Tomahawk Technique in 2012 and later Full Frequency in 2014. Imperial Blaze peaked at No.12 in the US, No.5 in Canada, No.8 in France, No.38 in the UK, while reaching No.1 on the US Reggae Albums (Billboard) and US Top Rap Albums (Billboard) - featuring the singles "So Fine" (UK #25, US #50), "Press It Up" (CAN #64), and "Hold My Hand" (feat. Keri Hilson) (CAN #82). Tomahawk Technique (released 24 January 2012) reached No.34 in the UK and No.2 on the US Reggae Albums (Billboard). It features the singles - "Got 2 Luv U" (with Alexis Jordan) (AUS #26, CAN #69, FRA #4, IRE #43, SCO #2, SWI #1, UK #11, US #84), "She Doesn't Mind" (AUS #46, CAN #49, FRA #3, IRE #10, SCO #3, UK #2, US #78), "Hold On" (UK #86), "Dream Girl (Remix)", "How Deep Is Your Love" (feat. Kelly Rowland), and "Touch The Sky". 

Full Frequency was released 18 February 2014, and debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums. It contained the singles "Other Side of Love" (UK #7, IRE #9, SCO #5), "Entertainment 2.0" (CAN #94), "Turn It Up"(SC #32, UK #35), and "Want Dem All". 

His first EP Mad Love the Prequel was released 29 June 2018 via SPJ and Island Records. It reached No.4 on the US Reggae Albums (Billboard) chart, reaching No.79 in Canada. It contains the singles "No Lie" (with Dua Lipa) (IRE #31, ITA #11, SCO #9, UK #10), "Tek Weh Yuh Heart", "Body" (feat. Migos) (UK #76, SCO #53), "Mad Love" (with Becky G & David Guetta) (CAN #71,FIN #9, IR# #35, SCO #21, UK #22) , "Tip Pon It" and "Naked Truth". 

His seventh album Live n Livin was released 12 March 2021, via Dutty Rock. It reached No.9 on the US Reggae Albums (Billboard). It contained the singles "Buss a Bubble", "Lion Heart", "Guns of Navarone" and "Real Steel". The album was nominated for a Best Reggae Album at the 2022 Grammy Awards

His 8th album, Scorcha, was released 27 May 2022, via Island Records, and opened at  No.6 on the US Billboard Reggae Albums, receiving a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 2023 ceremony. It saw the singles "Calling On Me", "Scorcha", "Only Fanz", "Dynamite" (feat. Sia), "How We Do It", No Fear" and "Light My Fire".
